Championship side signs Champions League winner

Ross Turnbull has won a European Cup
Former Chelsea goalkeeper, Ross Turnbull is on his way to Elland Road signing a 2 year contract.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been on trial at Leeds’ training facility and has obviously done enough to impress Uwe Rosler. He will be expected to challenge Marco Silvestri for a starting position.

Turnbull spent last season with League 1 side Barnsley making 27 appearances in all competitions despite missing the latter half of the season with a back injury.
Turnbull was last in the Championship in 2013/14 with Doncaster where the goalkeeper averaged 3.6 saves per game. Only 4 goalkeepers with more than 25 apps averaged more in that time.

Before his time at Doncaster, Turnbull spent 4 years as bridesmaid to Petr Cech’s bride. While at Chelsea Turnbull won 2 FA Cups, Thursday night cup, the 2010 league title under the watchful eyebrow of Carlo Ancelotti. And of course Ross Turnbull only went and won the actual Champions League.

With two friendlies on the go tonight, Turnbull is expected to play in one of them faxing either York City or Tadcaster Albion
