Manchester United seal deal for Bayern star

Why Schweinsteiger is finally joining the PL
Perennial Premier League target Bastian Schweinsteiger looks set to finally be making his way to England as he agrees a three-year deal with Manchester United.

Despite there being just a year left on Schweinsteiger’s contract, Bayern Munich are looking for a fee of approximately £14M for the 30 year old Germany midfielder.

Although Bayern had looked to extend the midfielder’s contract, he may suspect that Pep Guardiola would favour for a starting role and could have a fresh challenge at Manchester United with former boss Louis van Gaal.

Schweinsteiger will look to add the Premier League title to his already glittering trophy cabinet. Throughout his career he has already won a mere 8 Bundesliga titles, 9 domestic cups, the European Cup, World Club Championship and World Cup.

Sport Bild report that Schweinsteiger’s three-year deal with United will be worth approximately £7M per year or £135K per week. Not bad for a player on the wrong side of 30.

Is this a coup for United or should they be worried about a player that Pep Guardiola was willing to inevitably let go?
