Manchester United's Double Schwoop

Schmidfield duo
Although Manchester United have tried to get by for some time without an actual midfield, it appears the time has come to right the wrongs of their past.

Not only have they lured World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger from the tender bosom of Pep Guardiola, but Morgan Schneiderlin gave up his dreams of joining Tottenham to head north to join Louis van Gaal’s red army (other armies are available).
Schneiderlin will cost approximately £10M more than his World Cup winning partner in crime - signing a 4 year deal with the club.

Schneiderlin: "I have enjoyed seven very happy years with Southampton and it's a club that will always be in my heart. But the chance to be part of this squad to help this great club be successful was too good to miss."

Schneiderlin joined Southampton in 2008 and has played for them in League One, the Championship and Premier League. Saints narrowly missed out on a European place last season.

Schneiderlin obviously found the allure of playing alongside the likes of Phil Jones and Jonny Evans too much. He’s only human after all
