Former Chelsea misfit De Bruyne could be heading back to the PL

Could De Bruyne leave Bendtner?
Former Chelsea misfit Kevin De Bruyne is a man in demand - or so his agent would have you believe.

After leaving (being shipped out of) the London club for greener pastures to play alongside the likes of Lord Nicklas Bendtner at Wolfsburg, De Bruyne has helped his side come closer than anyone else to Bayern Munich’s reign aloft the Bundesliga.

The Belgian has picked up more assists (19) than any other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season, and added an additional 10 goals to his tally. So it stands to reason that a club or two might start batting their eyelashes at his Mr 15% over the summer.
De Bruyne’s representative, Patrick De Koster, has claimed that not one but three clubs are interesting in the £35M winger.

De Koster told talkSPORT that he’ll have a sit down with Wolfsburg to see if ‘they want to offer Kevin a new deal or allow him to move.

‘Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have made informal contact with me, but there have been no official offers.

‘The situation has now changed with Wolfsburg qualifying for the Champions League next season, so wherever he plays next season it will be in the Champions League.

‘If Wolfsburg decide to sell Kevin, then he will have a choice of clubs who can win their domestic league and challenge for the Champions League as well. The choice is his.’

De Bruyne is currently contracted to Wolfsburg until the end of the 2018/19 season.

  1. "Winger"? WhoScored says 32 times out of 41 as an AMC this season. Can he play both?
PSG don't need another central midfielder when Pastore & Cavani already complain about their positions :(

Was he really that bad at Chelsea?

    1. He has mostly been used in a central role this season by Wolfsburg, but has been used as a winger quite a bit throughout his career. The problem at Chelsea was more about his demand for first team football regardless of his performances. However Mourinho last season would 'punish' players for bad performances by having them sit out the next match. De Bruyne thought he was above that so was moved on for profit. Had he just played on and worked hard, I have no doubt he'd be a massive success at Chelsea - whether playing behind Costa or more in Willian's role.
